Types of Massage Therapy and Bodywork

Swedish –It is the most common form of massage. It is primarily used to relax the muscles and ease aches & pains.        

Deep TissueBy working the contracted areas of the body with deep pressure & slow strokes, chronic patterns of tension can be effectively released.                

SportsGeared towards the athlete, included are techniques to warm up &/or cool down muscles, increase flexibility & range of motion, and improve circulation. These techniques can be used before & after events, during training, & to decrease rehab time after an injury.       

Reflexology By stimulating the nerve endings in the feet, hands, and/or ears, the corresponding organs and organ systems of the body can be affected positively.

Rain Drop Therapy -
This technique is based on a Native American healing ceremony. Therapeutic grade essential oils are applied to the back & feet with specialized massage techniques to enhance the oils' properties.  It assists  in realigning balance to mind, body, & spirit. Also can be beneficial for relieving chronic back pain.

Myofascial ReleaseBy freeing up the connective tissue surrounding the muscles, greater movement is allowed throughout the body.

Reiki - Is a subtle energy techique which uses direct hand contact & operates under the philosphy that the practitioner is a conduit for universal life energy.

Postural Therapy - Is a postural therapy program using a combination of postural & gait analysis along with stretching & strengthening exercises & massage to restore proper function & balance n the body.

Movement Therapy
Utilizing rhythmic rocking movements, relaxation of the body & mind is encouraged.

Heated Stone –Using a combination of  heated stones & Swedish massage, a sense of deeper relaxation & greater stress reduction is achieved. Added benefits include improved circulation, decreased muscle & tissue stiffness, increased range of motion, & decrease in pain.

Mud Body Wrap - 75 min. session includes gentle brush exfoliation, application of the mud, 15 -20 minutes of being "wrapped" while your feet & scalp are massaged  followed by warm towel mud removal and a gentle moisturizing massage. Benefits include deep skin cleansing, absorption of skin impurities, stimulation of skin collagen, & skin exfoliation. Other benefits ... the session is relaxing, moisturizing, and balancing.
